About Tever
Welcome! I am a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Portland, OR and the owner of WellPath Counseling & Associates. I have worked for many years as an OBPLCT Approved Supervisor providing clinical supervision for Professional Counselor Associates seeking LPC and LMFT licensure in Oregon. I an also an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor for Lewis and Clark College. This experience of helping guide counselors in their clinical and professional development led me to open WellPath Counseling & Associates. We offer a team of well-trained counselors who are provided the support, resources, and a network of professionals to help them focus on providing you with quality mental health care.
My training started with receiving my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Portland State University and beginning practice as a family therapist in school settings working with adolescents and their families. In 2013, I opened my solo private practice, seeing adult individuals and couples specializing in relationship issues and trauma. I am trained in EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) and IFS. I have adjunct taught couples and family therapy courses at Portland State University and provided supervision to graduate interns in PSU’s MFT and Community Mental Health.
Additionally, I have had the great honor of being involved with state-wide development of the counseling profession as a Past President of the Oregon Counseling Association, (2020-2021), former chair of ORCA’s Professional Development and Education Committee (2018-2019) and Past Treasurer and board member for COPACT (2019-2023). In 2021 I was awarded ORCA’s Distinguished Service Award and in 2023 received the Leona Tyler Award recognizing individuals whose work has had statewide implications for counseling.
Clinical Supervision & Consultation
Individual and Group Clinical Supervision
I am an Approved Supervisor in Oregon available to provide individual and group supervision for counselors and therapists seeking licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Oregon.
Just like therapy, the success of supervision rests largely on the relationship between the supervisor and the supervisee. I like to use an integrative approach that accounts for both your professional and clinical development. Supervision will address how you change and grow as a practitioner and actively support your development of clinical competency and self-efficacy.
Professional Consultation
It is often helpful to consult with another provider on specific clinical questions. Consultation is usually only an hour or two of scheduled time and is not part of established supervision. If you are looking for professional consultation, please contact me to arrange a time to meet.
